TRAIL & TREAT - 2026

Trail and Treat returns to Greenway Park on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026 with the theme "Oh, the Treats You'll Find," for a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience in Charlestown. The City of Charlestown has partnered with Indiana University Southeast's Fine Arts class to create a scenic path through Greenway Park! Talented artists have brought Dr. Suess-inspired characters and scenes from the legendary books and films to life-size pieces of art! The Trail and Treat takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greenway Park.

SPECIAL APPEARANCE: The Grinch! from 5-7 p.m.

Join the trail at any spot in the park and walk the trail to visit the many booths. Concessions will be open.

Tank Entertainment will be offering free 360-degree photos experiences from 5-7 p.m.

Community members, businesses, non-profits, and churches can help pass out candy at the event by setting up tables throughout the trail to distribute treats. Volunteers and vendors can register early by filling out an online form, or reach out to Parks Director Carrie Basham at 812-256-3422 ext. 6 or parks@cityofcharlestown.com to reserve a spot. There is a $25 set up fee. If you'd like to donate candy, drop off contributions at City Hall during regular business hours.

Concessions will be open along with food trucks – Driving You Donuts and Frontier Kitchen

Handicap parking will be at the lot off Market Street across from Thompson Street. Parking will be available at Charlestown Elementary School with a paved trail to Market Street and Greenway Park.
