Charlestown Parks offers opportunities Summer Camps for engagement while students are out of school for break. Programming is designed to provide engaging activities and opportunities.
SUMMER SCIENCE CAMPS
Get ready for a fun-filled week of science exploration at the Knowledge is Power Camp in Charlestown! We’ve got an exciting lineup of hands-on activities that will spark curiosity and creativity in young minds.
The City of Charlestown Parks Department is teaming with Knowledge is Power Camp/Daniel Dietrich to host the 2025 The Dinosaurs of Science Jurassic Camp!

Two Camp Options, both held at the Family Activities Park (1000 Park Street):
FULL DAY CAMP – June 9-13, 2025 – Grades K-5th from 8 AM-5 PM – $150 per student
MINI CAMP – May 26-30, 2025 – Grades K-2 from 9-11 AM; Grades 3-5 from 12-2 PM; Grades 6-8 from 2:30-4:30 PM – $50 per sessions, per student

At each camp, students will dive into a variety of exciting experiments, including:

Make Your Own Fossil – Discover the secrets of paleontology by creating your very own fossil. Use clay and simple materials to mold your designs and make something that looks just like the real thing!

Plastic Slinky Bubble – Create a magical, wobbly bubble using a plastic slinky. Watch as it floats and twists in the air, defying gravity with every bounce!

2-Liter Propeller Boat – Build your own boat using a 2-liter bottle and a small propeller. Test it in the water and see how fast you can make it go!

Fizzing Dinosaur Eggs – Watch as your dinosaur eggs fizz and erupt! Combine baking soda and vinegar to create a fizzy reaction, then crack open the eggs to discover your dino surprise inside.

How to Make Dinosaur Fossils – Explore how real fossils are made by mixing toothpaste and eggs to create your very own fossil replica. Learn about the process of fossilization while having fun!

Toothpaste and Eggs – Make your own paste and experiment with different materials to protect an egg. Test it to see if it can survive a drop from a height!
These activities blend science and fun, sparking creativity while teaching you something new! Whether you’re making fossils or launching a boat, you’ll be amazed at what you can create at camp.
It’s going to be a week full of fun, learning, and discovery!
Each student that attends will receive a T-shirt, several take home science experiments, snacks, games, and more. Full day campers must bring their own lunch.
SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS
Charlestown Parks is teaming with Charlestown Ensembles to present a pair of Music Camps for youth in the community! All music interest levels are welcome to register for the camps.

Two Camp Options, both held at Charlestown Ensembles (1120 Park Street):
PIRATE MUSIC CAMP – June 16-20, 2025 – Grades K-5th from 9 AM-Noon – $100 per camper
PIANO CAMP – June 23-27, 2025 – Ages 8-12 from 9-Noon; Ages 13-18 from 1-4 PM – $100 per camper

PIRATE MUSIC CAMP
Ahoy! Join this music camp for students in grades K-5. We will have fun learning about music through singing, games, and composing and performing see shanties. The cost is $100 per camper.

PIANO CAMP
Ensembles Piano Camp is for all levels of students who are interested in learning more about playing the piano. We will learn about composition, music theory, learn to play in fun multi-part ensembles and will have fun playing games and making crafts. Cost is $100 per camper.
