TRAIL & TREAT - CANDYLAND

Save the date (Oct. 28) for a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience in Charlestown. The City of Charlestown has partnered with Indiana University Southeast's Fine Arts class to present a Candyland-themed Trail and Treat through Greenway Park! Talented artists have brought the characters and treats from the iconic board game to life-size pieces of art! The trail and treat takes place on Oct. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greenway Park. A Movie in the Park, "Cruella," will show at 7 p.m. as well.

The perfect parking spot is at Jonathan Jennings Elementary School and take the path down to Greenway Park! Concessions will be open.

Community members, businesses, non-profits, and churches can help pass out candy at the event! Tables will be set up throughout the trail to distribute treats. Volunteers and vendors can register early by filling out an online form, or reach out to Parks Director Marissa Knoebel at 812-256-3422 or parks@cityofcharlestown.com to reserve a spot. If you'd like to donate candy, drop off contributions at City Hall during regular business hours.

HALLOWEEN MOVIE IN THE PARK

Stick around Greenway Park after trick or treating on Sept. 28 for a Movie in the Park featuring "Cruella" at 7 p.m.

Disney’s "Cruella" follows the early days of one of cinema’s most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains. During the 1970s London punk rock revolution, a young grifter (Emma Stone), transforms herself into the raucous, revenge-bent Cruella de Vil.

The cast features Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong. The film is rated PG-13.
